Knowing the method and teaching it well are different skills.
You know the exercises. You know the anatomy. You’ve done the hours and passed the exams, and maybe added a few more courses since. Then you stand in front of a class, and something gets lost between what you know and what your clients actually do.
Teacher training taught you the method. It rarely teaches you how to teach it: how adults learn, why one client gets a cue and the next doesn’t, how to plan a class for a room full of different bodies, or what to try when a movement just isn’t landing.
So many teachers have said the same thing to me: “I have all this knowledge, but I don’t know how to get it out of my head and into my client’s body.” Some had only just qualified. Many had been teaching for six years or more, and still felt like an imposter.
More knowledge isn’t the answer. How you share it is. Teaching is a skill of its own, and like everything in Pilates, you build it in layers. The Teach Pilates with Confidence Academy gives you those layers, in order.
The teaching education Pilates teacher training leaves out.
The Teach Pilates with Confidence Academy is a self-paced online course for Pilates teachers who want to teach with more clarity, more connection and more confidence, whether you qualified last month or have been teaching for years.
I teach every lesson myself, on camera, and many of the tools are shown with a client on the mat so you can see what changes in a real body. It is built on my book and on the teaching tools I have developed and used with my own students for years.
By the end you will have:
- Clarity about who you teach and why, so every exercise choice has a purpose
- A real understanding of your clients: how adults learn, what motivates them, and what keeps them away
- A full teaching toolkit: demonstration, explanation, questioning, touch, imagery and storytelling
- A way to build a cue that lands, step by step, with my Anatomy of a Cue guide to keep
- Class plans that flow, built on six movement blocks, for beginners and mixed-level groups alike
- A kind, honest way to review your own teaching, so you keep improving long after the course
You can only teach like you. This course is designed to help you find the you within your teaching, and to trust it.
Your path, step by step
Four stages take you from “why do I teach?” to classes that run well. Open any stage to see its lessons.
Stage 1. Start with you Chapters 1–2 · 18 lessonsYou finish with: A clear picture of who you love to teach and why, and a positioning statement that keeps you on track.
If you don’t know who you’re serving or why you teach, it’s much harder to structure your classes or reach the people you most want to help. This short mini-course, Grow Your Confidence, works through your values, your why, your niche and your ideal client, then shows you what all of it has to do with teaching.

Your teacher: Tania Huddart
I have been teaching Pilates for more than thirty years, in London, New Zealand, Qatar, Bermuda and Australia.
In 2002 I opened my own studio, Hearts and Bones Pilates, built on the idea that a studio exists to serve the people in it. In 2008 I became the first instructor in New Zealand to hold the National Pilates Certification Program credential, and I remain a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT).
I have mentored teachers and studio owners for years, and wrote two books for them: Teach Pilates with Confidence, because teacher training so rarely teaches people how to teach, and Pilates & Purpose, a guide to building a studio from the heart.
Today I live on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, where I teach at Balance and Control Pilates in Red Hill and coach Pilates professionals around the world.
“Nobody else can teach like you. You are the only person that can teach like you.”

Why I made this course
Over the years I have spoken to so many teachers whose biggest worry was the same. They didn’t feel confident in the way they teach. They felt they didn’t know enough, or that they shouldn’t really be doing what they were doing.
I understand the pull to learn more. I’m a magpie for knowledge myself. But more knowledge has never, on its own, made me a better teacher for my clients. What matters is whether I can explain something so my client can take ownership of it and carry it into their everyday life.
Every one of those teachers had what it takes. What they needed were the tools to communicate it, and the confidence to teach as themselves. That is what this course gives you.
Your questions, answered
I’m newly qualified. Is it too advanced?
No. It starts with the foundations: who you want to teach, how adults learn and what motivates them. Every tool is explained in plain language, and many are shown with a client, so you can see exactly what to do.
I’ve been teaching for years. Will I learn anything new?
Most experienced teachers find they already use some of these tools without thinking about it. Seeing them named and laid out lets you use them on purpose, and the lessons on cueing, imagery, storytelling and mixed-level classes give you fresh options when the old ones stop working. Skip what you’ve already nailed.
I barely have time to teach. When would I do a course?
Whenever suits you. It’s about four hours in all, in short lessons, and completely self-paced. Watch one between classes and try it in your next session.
Will I get a qualification or a certificate?
No. This is professional development for teachers who are already qualified, not a teacher-training course, and there is no certificate. If you need continuing-education credit, check with your registering body first.
I’ve read the book. Isn’t this the same thing?
The course is built on the book, so the ideas will be familiar. What it adds is seeing them taught: me using each tool, many of them with a client on the mat, plus the confidence mini-course, the Anatomy of a Cue guide and a quiz at the end of each module.
I teach reformer, or another method. Does it still apply?
Yes. The course is about how to teach rather than which exercises to teach, so it works for mat and equipment, groups and one-to-ones. I’ve used these tools across a broad range of movement disciplines.
I’m not in Australia. Does it still apply?
Yes. I have taught in five countries, and the way adults learn doesn’t change at the border. Everything in the course works wherever you teach.
How long do I have access?
As long as you need it. Your enrolment doesn’t expire, so you can come back to any lesson whenever a question comes up in your teaching.
What if it isn’t right for me?
If within 14 days you’ve worked through the Grow Your Confidence mini-course and Module 1 and don’t feel it’s helping, send me a message and I’ll refund you in full.
Can I get personal help?
Yes. Every student can book a free 20-minute discovery call with me. If you want ongoing support, I offer one-to-one coaching for teachers.
What currency is the price in?
Australian dollars. Your card provider converts it at checkout.
Your teaching deserves the same care you give your clients.
You already know your Pilates. The Teach Pilates with Confidence Academy helps you get it out of your head and into your clients’ bodies, in a way that is clear, kind and completely your own.
